First publication from the BIVA-WATT project

How can the roughness of oyster reefs be described? In a new publication in frontiers in Marine Science on "Oyster Reef Surfaces in the Central Wadden Sea: Intra-Reef Classification and Comprehensive Statistical Description," scientists from the Leichtweiß Institute and the Ludwig Franzius Institute in collaboration with the Institute for Structural Design of the TU Braunschweig and Senckenberg am Meer studied the topographical roughness of oyster reefs based on in-situ structure-from-motion photogrammetry.

The publication is the first of the BIVA-WATT project and was published on March 9th, 2022 in frontiers in Marine Science under the research topic "Coastal Biogeomorphology".
